The mama behind the mess

Hey, I'm Courtney!

The mama, matcha lover, and beautifully imperfect woman behind Somewhere Between Mom & Me.

Come on in. I've probably got coffee, a story, and a laundry door that needs to stay closed.

First things first: I'm a mama to one sweet little girl, a lover of Jesus, and a woman who's still figuring out exactly who God created her to be.

I'm also convinced a good matcha latte can improve almost any day. Almost.

If you're wondering what I'm like outside of motherhood, let me paint you a picture.

I'm the girl who loves a good thriller or mystery movie but will probably figure out the ending before everyone else. Seriously, I'd say I'm right about nine times out of ten. I'm sure the people watching with me appreciate my detective skills.

I love audiobooks because, let's be real, sitting down to read an actual book feels like a luxury these days. So if I can enjoy a good story while accomplishing approximately twelve other things, count me in.

I love a good thrift haul, especially when it comes to finding little treasures for my home. Clothes shopping at the thrift store? That's a whole different adventure. Too many racks, too many choices, and suddenly I'm overwhelmed and wondering why I came in.

Give me a cute vintage basket or a unique piece of home decor, though, and I'm a happy girl.

The little things that feel like me

A rainy afternoon watching the world from my porch. A delicious espresso or iced matcha latte. Being outside in nature, taking in the beauty God created. A peaceful hike on a cool day.

And let me emphasize cool day, because this girl and hot weather are not friends.

I'm also a big foodie. I love good food, baking, and making homemade bread with my sweet girl. There's something so special about those little moments together — even if flour ends up everywhere and the kitchen looks like a bakery exploded.

Honestly, those are the memories I want to hold onto.

And the laundry pile? Oh, it's wild. 🥴
Thankfully, I have a system: close the door.
Out of sight, out of mind. 😂

A little more about my heart

As much as I enjoy all those things, my greatest blessing will always be motherhood. Being my daughter's mama has filled my heart with a love I never knew existed.

But motherhood has also been a season of learning, adjusting, growing, and discovering new parts of myself. And that journey hasn't always been easy.

I've learned that you can be incredibly blessed and still have difficult days. You can love being a mom and still need time for yourself. You can be grateful for your life while asking God to help you grow through its challenges.

I've also learned that His love is never-ending, His timing is perfect, and forgiveness and grace have a place in every part of life.

Some of our most beautiful growth happens during seasons we never would've chosen for ourselves.

Why I started this blog

I created Somewhere Between Mom & Me because I wanted a space where motherhood could be celebrated without pretending it's always picture-perfect.

A place to laugh about the chaos. Talk honestly about the hard stuff. Share the little blessings. Encourage one another. And, most importantly, share the love of Jesus along the way.

You won't find a perfect mama here.

You'll find a woman who loves her daughter fiercely, loves Jesus, enjoys a good latte, probably has laundry waiting behind a closed door, and is learning to give herself a little more grace every day.

So grab your coffee, matcha, or whatever gets you through the afternoon, and stay awhile. I'm so glad you're here.

Flowers grow in the valley. Grace upon Grace. 🌸

With love,
Courtney 🤍
